Lions Gate Camera Club placed 12th in the CAPA Spring Open Competition. Our aggregate score was 122 points, the competition was won by the Welland Camera Club in Fonthill, Ontario with 138 points, followed by the RA Photo Club of Ottawa, Ontario at 135 points, the third place club was the St. Catherine’s Photographic Club, St. Catherines, Ontario scoring 133 points. Honour awards were earned by the Foothills Camera Club at 132 points, Camera 35 St. Johns at 131, and Grand River Imaging & Photographic Society at 131.
There were thirty-three clubs competing and our placement was a little above the middle but not stellar. The additional statistics for this competition were: highest aggregate score 138, lowest aggregate score 80, highest image score 28, lowest image score 12 .
Connor Stefanison won a Certificate of Merit for the second highest scoring image in the competition with his stunning image “Mammoth Hot Springs”.
