LGCC wins Gold Certificate at CAPA Fall Nature Competition

We are Golden!  Lions gate Camera Club won the Gold Certificate, for first place, in the CAPA Fall Nature Competition. Our Aggregate score was 141 points, and we were followed, in second place, by the Toronto Camera Club (North York, ON) at 139 points, and the Welland Camera Club (Fonthill, ON) in third place at 138 points. The BC Lions will not be able to trounce Toronto in the Grey Cup, but we held up our end in this nature competition J.

Richard Glass took the First Certificate of Merit for the best nature image in the competition with “Evening Flight”, a stunning image of a Short-eared Owl.  Additionally, not to diminish Richards impressive win, but insect and reptile images seldom have the impact or “Wow” factor to score highly, Roberta Olenick’s“Paper Wasp” shown below, is a notable exception with a deservedly high score. Congratulations Richard and also to those members whose images were selected for the Lions Gate Camera Club submissi

on. Thank you to all those members who contributed their images for consideration by entering images in the internal club competitions. Following are the images and scores for the LGCC entry:
